Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect from a session with you?

  • First time clients should expect their first appointment to include a thorough intake and movement assessment.

  • As our name suggests, we provide focused bodywork for specific concerns & injuries. Please do not expect general full body massage.

  • We also empower our clients to take healing into their own hands by providing home care advice.

What modalities/types of massage do you offer?

We primarily specialize in Orthopedic Massage.

What is Orthopedic Massage?

Orthopedic massage is a specialized form of massage therapy that focuses on treating musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. It combines elements of deep tissue, myofascial release, and stretching techniques to address injuries, chronic pain, and mobility issues. This type of massage is often used to help rehabilitate soft tissue injuries, improve range of motion, and support overall joint and muscle health.

Unlike a relaxation massage, it is highly targeted and may involve assessment and movement testing to identify the root cause of your pain.

What is Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD)?

This gentle, specialized technique promotes efficient lymph drainage, a crucial component of a healthy immune system. MLD offers particular benefits for individuals with:

  • Lymphedema: This chronic condition arises from the accumulation of lymph fluid, causing swelling and discomfort. It can affect any body part, but commonly occurs in the arms and legs. MLD can effectively reduce swelling, improve circulation, and manage lymphedema symptoms.

  • Post-Surgical Recovery: MLD can accelerate healing and minimize swelling following surgery, especially procedures impacting lymph nodes.

  • Chronic Inflammatory Conditions: MLD offers symptom management for conditions like arthritis and fibromyalgia, addressing swelling, pain, and fatigue.

Do you take insurance?
