Orthopedic massage is a specialized form of manual therapy focused on assessing and treating musculoskeletal pain, injuries, and conditions affecting the body's soft tissues. It's an umbrella term encompassing a range of advanced techniques aimed at restoring structural balance, reducing pain, and optimizing physical function.

Key techniques often integrated within an orthopedic massage approach include:

    •    Myofascial Release: Targeting the fascial system to alleviate tension, restrictions, and adhesions that can cause pain and limit movement.

    •    Movement Assessment: A crucial diagnostic step involving the analysis of posture, gait, and specific movements to identify the root causes of dysfunction and pain patterns. This guides the precise application of therapeutic techniques.

    •    Injury Massage: Direct application of various massage techniques to address specific injuries, reduce inflammation, promote healing in damaged tissues, and support rehabilitation.

    •    Scar Tissue Work: Techniques designed to break down adhesions and restrictions formed by scar tissue (from injuries, surgeries, etc.), improving tissue pliability, circulation, and range of motion.

By combining these precise interventions, orthopedic massage aims to not only alleviate symptoms but also to correct underlying biomechanical imbalances, prevent re-injury, and enhance overall physical performance.
